According to sources, Suzy is cast as the main role of Netflix‘s upcoming drama “The Girl Downstairs”. The drama is adapted from the popular naver webtoon “The Girl Downstairs” (이두나!). The webtoon was published in 2019, and is still on-going as of this moment.
In webtoon “The Girl Downstairs”, Lee Du Na was an idol who suddenly retired from the industry. She lives together with Lee Won Joon, a university freshman, in a share house. The story talks about the things that happen between the two.
Ever since there’s rumor about the webtoon being adapted, the fans had been anticipating and guessing who would be acting as Lee Du Na, who’s supposedly beautiful and has a distinctive aura. Suzy was one of the actress that’s mentioned when fans discussed who would fit the role perfectly.
Lee Du Na, who’ll be starred by Suzy, was a main vocal of the girl group “Dream Sweet” but later retired from the industry. After retirement, she returned to Minsong University as a student majoring in Theatre and Film. Du Na ends up living in a share house in the university district.
“The Girl Downstairs” will be directed by director Lee Jung Hyo whose previous works include “Crash Landing on You” and “Life On Mars”.
